What supplements to eat against sunburn
Polypodium leucotomos and yeast to the rescue from the sun
I got sunburnt. Of course I forgot to put on a suncream, because it was windy. I did not feel the sun.
So I was researching if there is a supplement that help with sunburn.
And it is. Apparently at least 5 things:
Polypodium leucotomos,
Vitamin E
Astaxanthin
Beta-carotene
Nicotinamide/Niacinamide
Well I am not doctor or dietitian, but I know that Beta Caroten and Nicotinamide can be found in yeast. And according to research, so does Astaxanthin. And because yeast is so good, some vitamin E is also found.
So, the mistery remained for me this Polypodium leucotomos. It is a leafy plant from South America, that help with sun burning.
I'll be honest - never heard about it and was a bit sceptical. But it turns out that there were several studies done. And they said it kind of works. So I ordered a box and will report back, once I got it.
In the mean time, take care and don't be foolish like me, use suncream. Od suncream stick - I hate the creamy stuff, but the stick sound practical. When you use it of course :)
Btw: Beer also has Beta Caroten, Nicotinamid and Vitamin E :)
Enjoy!
