Spicy Friday: The circle of Brain-Stomach-Gut
So not just love, the wits also seem to go through the stomach
You know how we live healthily but only cheat a little once in a while? Because it's just a little digression?
Well. About that...
It's not that little. Scientists found out that this little cheat affects our gut, brain, and body quite a lot.
Sure, an unhealthy life is worse than a little cheat from time to time. But evidence from rats shows a tremendous effect even on an occasional unhealthy snack.
So it's best to level out things and not binge junk food on weekends.
But even that, not all junk food is of the same junk status.
And not, eating just vegetables isn't healthy either. You need a balanced diet. Or you are stuck on some heavy load of vitamin and mineral supplements because you are not getting everything from your diverse diet.
And it's not just your clogged-up veins. It seems to affect the clogged brain, gut, and everything. Since everything is connected.
Not just connected, heavily connected. Some gut bacteria (or absence thereof) are linked to Alzheimer's and Parkinson, more than you might think.
And some research has also linked intelligence heavily with gut health and bacteria.
So not just love, the wits also seem to go through the stomach :)
p.s: Research shows that fermented food is quite OK for the gut. So I will enjoy a fermented beer. But don't drink the whole six-pack; that is probably too much ;)
