There are some basic Friday arithmetics. Unless you are completely wacko, you cannot get into an argument with yourself.
For a fight or love, you need another person.
And the more people you have in a group, the more likely you will get into a heated argument and agree on nothing.
In both instances, we are talking about people of equal status. People are funny this way.
If you, however, put the same people in a closed environment or force them to interact frequently, a hierarchy would evolve.
One would be at the top, one at the bottom, a few close to the top, a few close to the bottom, and a lot in the middle.
And the same goes for a union of two.
One has to lead; one has to follow. Even if the roles change sometimes or occasionally, one leads, and the other follows. Because the moment where both lead or both follow, there is a standstill. Either nothing happens, or all hell breaks loose.
So we are all about power in some way. Who can power wrestle who, and how? A wife over the husband, a husband over the wife. A friend over a friend. A relative over another relative.
A rat race of status of nothing. Because it matters none.
But it feels like it matters.
Although we all meet our maker at the end, no one remembers who won the power struggle.
Because nobody won.
We are all just a glimpse, an illusion of a timelapse. And we should man up and act more accordingly. And not be caught in these insignificant power struggles.
Live a life that matters, not a life of convenience.
And with that, I end my Friday thought.
